Biography

Dr. Truong X. Nghiem is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Chair of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the School of Informatics, Computing, and Cyber Systems (SICCS) at Northern Arizona University (NAU). His research interests include the integration of AI/machine learning, control, optimization, and computing for intelligent cyber-physical systems, to enable smart and autonomous systems in a wide range of applications. He founded and leads the Intelligent Control Systems (ICONS) Laboratory at NAU.

Achievement highlights:

  • He is a recipient of the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award and Engineering Research Initiation (ERI) Award.
  • At NAU, since 2018, he has secured over $11.05M in funding, with $2.57M under direct management.
  • He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and been cited 1281 times with a combined h-index of 18.
